The NCAA Tournament RPI table at left lists the Overall RPI Rating and RPI ranking for every NCAA tournament team.
RPI stands for Ratings Percentage Index. The RPI formula uses team winning percentage (25%), opponent winning percentage (50%), and a strength of schedule proxy (25%) to create a single numerical performance rating.
Most famously, college basketball RPI ratings are used by the NCAA tournament selection committee to help determine the NCAA tournament field and seeds.
