Site Update: NFL & College Football Picks & Pools

Hey folks, we’re in scramble mode updating all of our code for the college football season, which starts in SIX DAYS. Here are a few of the highlights from the last week and a half.

Office Pool Picks

We’ve overhauled our office pool picks logic. In the past, we’ve had to go in and make a lot of manual changes to the picks each week. We’ve automated some of those tasks, so the early lists (before we’ve had a chance to add our human touch) should be more accurate. That way if you need to get your picks in before our weekly pick’em strategy post, you’ll have a smarter list to work with.

These updated picks exist for four types of pools:

– NFL Game Winner Pick’Ems
– NFL Spread-Based Pick’Ems
– College Football Game Winner Pick’Ems
– College Football Spread-Based Pick’Ems

We’ll be tweaking these pages a bit more in the next few days, so if you see large changes in those lists, that’s why. Everything will be in its right place by early next week, though.

On a related note, don’t forget about out interactive Pick’Em Predictor tools, which lets you reorder the matchups by dragging and dropping, while viewing computer predictions and stats for each game:

– NFL Pick’Em Predictor
– College Football Pick’Em Predictor

Prediction Accuracy Pages

We’ve updated our prediction accuracy pages for the 2011 seasons and added some cool new splits, plus simplified the navigation in the left sidebar. Check out our past performance, and dig in to find key trends:

– NFL Prediction Accuracy
– College Football Prediction Accuracy

News Articles Pages

We’re planning an update to our sport home page design, which will entail removing the news section, and replacing it with data on upcoming matchups. In preparation for that change, we’ve created a new page for each section where you can find all our recent blog posts on your sport of choice:

– NFL News & Analysis
– College Football News & Analysis
– NBA News & Analysis
– College Basketball News & Analysis

This time next week, we’ll be talking about actual football games. Who’s excited?
