Week 2 NFL Contest Results: MONST4R Dominates The Field

TeamRankings user monst4r crushed the competition in our Week 2 private tournament on FanDuel, setting a new high score record for our contests with 156.44 points!

(You can see all the final standings here.)

That score was more than 10 points better than second place finisher adondarski at 146.32, and it bested adamhasu‘s previous high score of 148.08 by more than 8 points.

Here was monst4r’s dominating draft strategy, including a sweet value pick in Adrian Peterson’s backup, Matt Asiata, for only $4500:

Props to you, Josh, and we’ll be emailing you to set up your free Football Season Pass to TeamRankings.

We (teamrankings) fell from grace quite quickly in Week 2, plummeting from a fifth place finish in Week 1 to an out-of-the-money 60th place finish in Week 2. Ouch!

As usual, we did another blog post outlining our experiences and learnings for the past week, and it seems like there’s at least one reason why our lineup may have fallen short this week.

So to whomever won our 10 bucks…we hope that burger and fries you bought with it gives you indigestion! 🙂

Most Weeks Beating The TeamRankings Nerds

  • 2 — amwind09
  • 1 — Lots of people

Despite our weak 60th place finish in Week 2, the TR Nerds (teamrankings) still managed to beat two of the four entrants (nitecap and hagg) that bested our 5th place finish in Week 1. Apparently finishing well in one week isn’t a great predictor of the next…

So amwind09 now stands above all in this metric, coming in 17th in Week 2 after a 3rd place finish in Week 1. Wow!

Sadly, it looks like last week’s champ, adamhasu, didn’t even show up try to defend his Week 1 title. Is he trying to retire at 1-0 to preserve his undefeated record? That’s weak, yo! Hopefully he’s back in Week 3.

Why You Should Play

If you’ve never played one-day fantasy football before, come play with us this week. It’s easy, it’s fun, and it makes NFL Sundays way more exciting.

To keep the focus on fun, our private tournaments on FanDuel are low stakes contests known as “double ups,” where all you need to do is finish in the top half of the standings to double your $10 entry fee. It’s the friendliest format for new players just getting their feet wet, like us.

FanDuel has even agreed to waive their typical small fee for hosting these contests, meaning that 100% of the entry fees in our private tourneys go straight back to the winners as prize money.

Finally, we enter all of these tournaments ourselves, so here’s your chance to beat up on the TR Nerds and talk trash about it on a weekly basis!
